English name: Pendulous wing-moss
A pleurocarpous moss with reddish stems and leaves that are often tinged golden. The species forms loose mats of branched shoots at the tip of which leaves may turn over to one side. Characteristic are the recurved teeth along the margins of the leaves.
In Scotland, Antitrichia curtipendula is widespread in The Highlands where it grows in the uplands on rocks and trees and shrubs in open woods, and along the coast on sand dunes and shingle. BBS distribution map
