Arthonia vinosa

A crustose lichen with a creamy yellow to orange thallus that often has darker orange patches. The rounded apothecia are convex, orange to dark brown and not pruinose.

In Scotland, Arthonia vinosa has a scattered distribution. It grows on trees, mainly oak but also alder, in sheltered, old woodland. BLS distribution map
