Aspicilia contorta

A distinctive, crustose lichen that forms greenish or glaucous grey thalli that, when young, consists of separate, rounded areoles, each with an apothecium in the centre. On becoming mature, the areoles may merge and become paler. The apothecia are immersed and frequently have a blue-white pruina that covers the black discs.
