Cladonia portentosa

A richly branched, fruticose species that has a grey-green thallus that often has a yellowish tinge and divides trichotomously at the apices. The branch axils are often open.

Thallus: C-, K-, UV+ pale blue

Cladonia portentosa is common throughout Scotland where it is found on mossy dykes, stumps and on the ground in conifer plantations, heaths, peats moors and dunes. BLS distribution map
