Flavoparmelia caperata

A foliose species with yellow-grey to almost apple-green thalli that may have light brown margins. When mature, the lobes are transversely wrinkled, with coarse soredia covering the surface. If present, the apothecia have sorediate margins.

In Scotland, Flavoparmelia caperata is widely distributed in the south and west where it is common on acid-barked, deciduous trees and conifers, and siliceous rocks. BLS distribution map
