Grimmia trichophylla

English name: Hair-pointed grimmia

An acrocarpous moss that forms light to yellow-green cushions or loose patches. The leaves have recurved margins and taper towards the tip which terminates in a conspicuous white hair point.

In Scotland, Grimmia trichophylla is widespread in upland areas on siliceous rock in scree, on exposed cliffs, and on walls and other acidic stonework. BBS distribution map
