Parmotrema crinitum

A distinctive foliose species with a glaucous-grey thallus that is loosely attached and consists of broad and rounded, overlapping lobes. Scattered over the lobe surface and along the margins are black cilia and clusters of coralloid isidia.

In Scotland, Parmotrema crinitum has a western distribution where it is found on mossy trees and siliceous rocks in sheltered woodland and exposed situations. BLS distribution map
