Racomitrium fasciculare

English name: Green mountain fringe-moss

An acrocarpous moss with a sprawling growth form that is yellow-green when exposed to the sun and olive-green when shaded. The shoots are relatively long and have short branches with bunched leaves. The leaves never have a hairpoint.

Capsules mature in late spring.

In Scotland, Racomitrium fasciculare is widespread on siliceous boulders, shaded rock faces, scree and drystane dykes. BBS distribution map
