Scorpidium revolvens

English name: Rusty hook-moss

A distinctive pleurocarpous moss with a sprawling growth form and reddish or almost black shoots. The long, irregular branches have nerved leaves. 

In Scotland, Scorpidium revolvens has a scattered, upland distribution and is found in moderately base-rich flushes or on flushed rocks. BBS distribution map
