Trapeliopsis pseudogranulosa

A crustose species with a greenish grey thallus that usually carries bright orange patches. This crust is minutely granular. Scattered, large soralia with pale greenish soredia and orange patches may eventually cover the surface.

In Scotland, Trapeliopsis pseudogranulosa is widespread, except for in some lowland areas. It occurs in humid, more sheltered habitats where it grows on peat and over decaying bryophytes, rotting wood and plant debris. BLS distribution map

Trapeliopsis pseudogranulosa is distinguished from Trapeliopsis flexuosa and Trapeliopsis granulosa on basis of the minutely granular thallus, the large soralia and the orange patches.
