Hypnum cupressiforme

English name: Cypress-leaved plait-moss

An acrocarpous moss that has green to warm brown, slender to medium-sized, irregularly branched shoots with strongly curved leaves that taper to a long, fine point. Capsules have a beaked lid.

Capsules mature from late autumn to winter.
