Lecanora confusa

A crustose species with a green-grey or yellow-grey, granular to areolate, thallus that forms neat patches. It is usually fertile. The discs are greenish yellow to pinkish buff,  and with a pale, crenulate margin that stands out brightly against the thallus and may become excluded with age.

Thallus: C+ orange, K-, UV+ bright orange

In Scotland, Lecanora confusa is widespread except for parts of The Highlands. It is common in unpolluted areas on twigs and small branches of deciduous trees and in coastal areas on fences. BLS distribution map

Lecanora confusa is distinguished from Lecanora symmicta on basis of the thalline margin that is more persistent and crenulate.
