English name: Heath earwort
A leafy liverwort with medium-sized, pale green or pigmented shoots. The pointed front and back lobes are not too closely adpressed to each other. The gemmae are green.
In Scotland, Scapania irrigua is widespread as a colonist of damp, disturbed and compacted soil such as forestry tracks, old quarries and streamsides. BBS distribution map
