Bryoria fuscescens

A fruticose lichen with a prostrate or pendant, smoky grey-green or very dark brown thallus that branches mainly at acute angles. The branches are somewhat flattened at the axils of the main branches. Soralia arise from wart-like structures or from splits in the branches.

Bryoria fuscescens is distinguished from Bryoria subcana on basis of its darker thallus colour, its less neat branching patterns and at least part of the soralia arising from splits in the branches.
