Fuscidea cyathoides var. cyathoides

A crustose species with a grey to mouse-brown thallus that is cracked to areolate and limited by a dark brown or black prothallus which is often visible between the areoles. The relatively large, dark brown or black apothecia lose their paler and thin proper margin with age. This species often forms extensive mosaics.
