Graphis scripta

A distinctive crustose species with a white to grey thallus that is smooth or slightly uneven. A lirellate apothecia may be branche, and have raised, unfurrowed margins. The centre of the lirellae may be pruinose.

In Scotland, Graphis scripta is widespread on moderately shaded, smooth-barked trees and heather stems in central and western regions in particular. BLS distribution map
