Plagiochila porelloides

English name: Lesser featherwort

A liverwort that forms green to dark green mats. The front margin of the egg-shaped leaves is reflexed and extends down onto the stem. Thread-like branches bind together the shoots to form a mat. Male shoots form yellow, attenuated tips to the shoots.

In Scotland, Plagiochila porelloides is widespread in a wide range of sheltered habitats including woodland banks and streamsides. BBS distribution map
