Below an overview of moss and liverwort species found on moorland, and on lowland and coastal heathland in various parts of North-East Scotland. Included in this picture gallery are species of dry and wet heath, bogs and flushes, and species that grow on rocks and boulders, quarries and tracks. Though representing a good cross section of the most common moorland species, the species list doesn’t necessarily represent all species found in these habitat mosaics.
